Kenneth G Seal began his construction career in 1988 as an asbestos worker and supervisor with Local Union 300 in Seattle, Washington. Ken switched his craft to commercial and industrial painting and was employed by Long Painting for over 25 years and eventually worked his way up to the position of Superintendent. In 2008, Ken transferred his membership to District Council 15/ Local 159 in Las Vegas. He worked as a Painting and Safety Instructor for the Council for five years. He was very active in his union and was elected as a delegate for DC-15, and then as a trustee for Local 159. Ken also served on the internal Organizing Committee and volunteered many hours to recruit new members to the IUPAT. Starting in 2012, Ken has been promoted several times within the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades - Finishing Trades Institute. First as a program manager, where he was very proud of his work on the Painters and Allied Trades Veterans Program at Joint Base Lewis McChord that helped servicemen and women transition into a civilian career. Ken also serves as the IUPAT Safety and health director where he sits on multiple committees. Ken sets on the NABTU, AFL-CIO, American Latter Institute (ALI), and a Voting Member on the ANSI A-10 Committee. Ken became the Central and Western Region Apprenticeship Training Representatives (ATR) for the past three years. Ken now serves as the Western Region ATR and the IUPAT Safety representative. He works as the training liaison between all the District Council training funds and the International. Ken Continues to do what he truly believes in, and that is to help others succeed in this great Union and works hard to keep the men and women in all the building trades safe. Ken is a Master OSHA and First Aid, and CPR Instructor, Fall Protection, Hazardous material, Confined space, Boom, scissor, and forklift, Lead supervisor and worker also hold numerous other credentials throughout the construction industries. Ken also holds the Level 2 National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) and Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) Inspectors Credential.
